RACV and the environment |

![]() RACV is committed to ensure it is environmentally responsible in the conduct of its business, both through its Corporate Plan objectives and National Climate Change Policy Statement it has signed with all other Australian motoring clubs. In addition, RACV advocates on behalf of its members and provides advice through a number of key initiatives designed to assist members reduce their environmental footprint.
RACV’s environmental responsibilitiesIn line with the RACV Environmental Management Framework, key environmentally sustainable actions have been included in the RACV Corporate Plan 2006-2009. These include programs to develop, monitor and report key environmental indicators, develop and apply environmental design criteria and integrate environmental considerations into RACV’s purchasing policies. Further RACV has worked closely with all the Australian Automobile Association motoring clubs to produce a climate change policy statement and Phase One Project plan. assisting members to reduce environmental impactsRACV aims to provide an influential, effective and collective voice on behalf of its members. RACV market research shows that 97% of members are concerned about the environment with the same percentage supporting an expanding presence from RACV in the environmental arena especially in areas relating to reducing emissions, alternative fuels and sustainable modes of transport, improved traffic flow and other transport-related environmental issues.
